Becky Peterson is a San Francisco-based reporter at Business Insider, where she covers tech M&A and IPOs. She’s a fan of chasing scoops and has broken news on industry changing deals, from Microsoft’s June 2018 acquisition of GitHub, to Blackberry’s November 2018 acquisition of Cylance. She’s also an experienced investigative reporter, who uncovered allegations of sexual assault and dishonesty at the software startup Apttus, a former Silicon Valley unicorn.
Becky grew up in Sacramento, California. She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she studied philosophy and technocultural studies. She has a master’s degree from New York University in media, culture and communication where she researched the impact of technology on society.
